Dress Code & Shoes

Our dress code is relaxed but practical. We don’t ask for every student to dress alike,

but we do have basic rules to make sure everyone is safe and will get the most out of the class

  • Clothes

    • Leotards and tights.

    • Tank-tops or close-fitting t-shirts

    • Shorts, capris, yoga pants, leggings or other legwear that allows freedom of movement

    • Proper undergarments that can’t be seen

    • Clothes can be any color

    • No inappropriate words or images

  • Hair

    • Must be pulled back and out of the face.

    • Long hair - ponytails or buns

    • Short hair - cut, pinned, or tied back

  • Jewelry

Not all jewelry is dance appropriate. Long necklaces, dangly earrings, and big rings can hurt you and other dancers. If you’re unsure whether it is safe to wear a piece of jewelry, please follow the advice of your teacher. Acro dancers should wear as little jewelry as possible.

    • Earrings – studs and small hoops

    • Necklaces – short chains

    • Bracelets & watches – sized to wrist, no bangles

    • Other piercings – studs or similar designs that don’t catch or snag

  • Shoes
