Classes
Do you have toddler classes?
We teach classes from 3 years old and up. Just make sure your little one is potty trained before they begin!
Are your class levels based on age?
Our levels are based on ability, but some classes are tailored to specific age groups. You can see our class list here, but please reach out to us so we can assess you or your dancer to make sure you get the best fit.
What competitions do you go to?
We don’t take part in competitions. We prefer to spend our time building up our students and give them the skills they need to shine both on and off the stage.
Are there other opportunities to perform (other than the recital)?
Yes! We take part in the Mechanicsburg Halloween parade and the Harrisburg Holiday parade. We are constantly keeping an eye out for other events in our community.
Who can take part in the parades?
All students from toddler to adult are welcome to join us in the parade. You just need to sign up in advance. More information will be provided closer to the parade dates.
When do summer classes start?
Our summer session will begin after the July 4th holiday.
When do fall classes start?
Our fall/spring classes will begin after Labor Day.
What are your opening hours?
Scroll to the bottom of any page for our normal opening hours.
Do you close for holidays?
We are closed on the following dates:
Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving weekend
Christmas/New year’s break
Spring Break (Easter) weekend
Memorial Day weekend and Monday
Does the schedule change for trick or treat nights?
Yes.
How do I know if class is cancelled or delayed?
We’ll send you an email, but you can also check our Facebook and Instagram accounts for up-to-date information.
How do I join a virtual class?
Starting in Fall of 2024, we will NO LONGER be offering classes via Zoom. If you need to miss a class for any reason, please see your teacher for an appropriate make up class.
Registration
Is there a registration fee?
Only for our Fall/Spring session. We do not have a registration fee for summer classes, special classes, or workshops.
Do you offer discounts?
We have a sibling discount for registration and class fees. We also offer discounts if you take multiple classes. For more information, check out our registration page here.
Do you offer make-up classes?
Yes, if you miss a class, you can make it up if it’s offered on a different day. Just come to the other class.
Payments
Can I pay by cash or check?
Yes, you can pay by both cash or check, just drop it off at our office. If you need to send a payment in the mail, please make out the checks to “Wevodau Dance Center” and send it to:

What other ways can I pay?
You can easily pay using the parent portal which accepts credit cards, bank e-checks, PayPal, and Autopay.
Are there late fees?
Yes, if you don’t pay for your classes before the 10th of the month, late fees will apply. Save yourself time and money and sign up for Autopay. Then you won’t ever see a late fee.
How do I sign up for Autopay?

Do I need to use the parent portal?
Yes, you need to register your dancer through the portal to make sure they are in the system. The portal is also a great tool that keeps all of your class information in one place including payments, class files, and schedules.

Dress Code
Do you have a uniform?
No. Our dress code is relaxed, but there are a few rules to keep our dancers safe. See here for our guidelines and suggestions.
What shoes should I buy my child?
Each class has its own shoe requirements. For a full list, please see our page here.
Can I wear jewelry to class?
Yes, but you need to make sure it is not a danger to yourself or your classmates. We recommend studs or small hoops for piercings, necklaces on short chains, and fitted bracelets and watches.
Costumes
When does my child get measured for their costume?
Costume measurements are taken during regular class. There’s no need to set up an appointment or come outside of class.
Do I have to order a costume?
If you plan to dance in the end of year show you must have a costume for each number you are performing.
When is the deposit due?
Costume deposits are always due by January 1st.
Can I take my costume home?
Once you have fully paid for it, it can go home with you. It is yours and so please don’t hand it back to the studio after the show.
If my child can’t perform in the show, can I get a refund on their costume?
No. Costumes are bought specially for individual students and aren’t resold. Because of this we cannot give refunds.
Picture Day
When is picture day?
Picture day happens over two days, in May. Please see the important dates page or picture day page for specific dates.
Where is picture day?
Both days will be held at the dance studio.
How early do I need to arrive?
You need to be at the studio at least 20 minutes before your time slot so you have enough time to sign in and get ready.
Where can I find the schedule for picture day?
The schedule will be sent via email and can also be found in the parent portal.
What do I need to bring?
You’ll need all of your costumes, shoes, and accessories for each dance. Please make sure your name is on each of the items in case anything gets left behind. If you’re not sure what you need for each dance, please check with your teacher or see the acesssory list in the parent portal.
Also, please do your hair and make up before you arrive.
Who is taking the pictures?
Fine Art Photos will take individual and group shots at the studio. They are based in Lemoyne, so if you are unable to attend on the day or would like reshoots, you can get individual photos taken at their studio. Please speak to the office for more information.
How do I buy and choose my photos?
Once the pictures are available, you will be able to order them online.
There are no packages, so you only pay for what you want. They will be on sale in 8x10 units. So, you can buy 1 -8x10, 2-5x7, 4- 3x5, or 8 wallet sized photos. You can also buy composite photos of multiple poses, costumes, or family members.
Where do I pick up my photos?
They will be mailed directly to your home.
Rehearsal
When is the rehearsal for the recital?
Rehearsals will be Thursday and Friday before the recital day.
Do I need to go to both rehearsal nights?
Maybe. Some students only need to go to one night, others will need to go to both. Please speak to your teacher or see that schedule that will be sent via email and posted in the parent portal.
Will I need to be there for the whole rehearsal?
It depends on the dances you are in, but it’s unlikely. Just make sure you arrive 10-15 minutes before your rehearsal slot. We’ll let you into the building when the previous class leaves.

Rehearsal, and the show, will be at the Scottish Rite Cathedral in Harrisburg.

Where can I find the rehearsal schedule?
The schedule that will be sent via email and posted in the parent portal closer to the rehearsal dates.
Where’s the entrance?
You’ll need to enter the building through the door marked Stage Door. As you face the building from the parking lot, it will be on your left near the Wiconisco St. end of the parking lot.
What if I can’t make it?
It’s important that ALL students attend rehearsal because it’s the only chance to practice on stage. However, if you know you can’t make it, please speak to your teacher in advance.
Will we get to see our dressing rooms?
Yes, before you leave, you’ll get to see your assigned dressing room for the show.
Do I need to bring my costumes?
No, it’s not a dress rehearsal. So, unless your teacher has told you, please don’t bring your costumes. However, you will need to remember all your shoes for each number you’re in.
Recital
Where is the recital?
The show and rehearsal are at the Scottish Rite Cathedral

When is the recital?
Usually the 2nd or 3rd Saturday in June (depending on how the dates fall each year). Please see the show & tickets page or important dates page for the specific date for this year and mark your calendars!
Can local businesses advertise in the program?
Yes! Ads are available for local businesses and as shout outs to your favorite dancer. There are three different sizes available, quarter-, half-, and full-page. We also have digital ads that will play during the show. You can contact the office for more information.
Do you do shout outs to performers in your program?
Yes, you can run a message or one-liner in our program. It is a maximum of 15 words at $5 apiece. You can contact the office for more information.
Where can I buy tickets to the show?
You can buy tickets online. If you prefer to buy them in person, they will be available at the door. Please see the ticket information and link to purchase on the show & tickets page.
Do I need separate tickets for each showing?
Yes, you’ll need a ticket for each show you wish to attend. But if you’re a parent of a child who is in both shows there will be 2 complimentary tickets for the second show. To get them, you’ll have to claim them at the same time you purchase tickets to the first show.
Are there any exceptions?
Children 2 and under do not need a ticket. Everyone else 3 and up will need one and they are available at the same price.
Can I choose my seats?
Yes, if you buy them online in advance, you can choose your seat.
Can I get a recording of the show?
DVDs of the show can be ordered directly from www.mackvideoproductions.com/store. Make sure that you find “Wevodau Dance” and select the show (2pm or 7pm) that you want. All current families will also receive a digital download of the show once the professional recording is finalized.
Are virtual tickets available for the show?
No. Starting in 2024, we are NO longer offering a live stream of the show. Please purchase a DVD if you are unable to attend in person.
Can I take video and photos during the show?
No. Flash photography and video recording are not permitted during the show for the safety of our dancers and the enjoyment of everyone in the audience. Our ushers will ask you to turn off your device or leave if you are using recording devices.
